Run the Deck is a free card game. No betting, no real money and no prizes worth money.
Anyone can play. Accounts, mates, messages and chat are for 16+.
Be decent. Banter's fine. Bullying, hate, threats and sexual content aren't.
Report or block anyone, any time. We can remove content or accounts that break the rules, and you can appeal.
1. Who we are
These terms are an agreement between you and Lorenzo Fuller, trading as 628 Studios, a sole trader in the UK, at 42a Broadway, London W13 0SU, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). Contact: renzoskitchen@gmail.com. By using Run the Deck you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you're under 18, please read them with a parent or carer.
2. Ages and features
Age
What you can use
Under 16
The card games: bots, Pass & play, casual rooms with mates by code, and the browser game from a challenge link. No account, chat, messages, friends, profile or purchases
16 and over
An account (email code or Sign in with Apple, plus your date of birth) with mates, crews, direct messages, table chat, online games, Your Week recaps and referral rewards, with safety settings on by default for 16–17s
Tell the truth about your age. If we think it's wrong, we may limit your account or ask you to confirm it.
3. Your account
Keep your sign-in email (or Apple Account) secure. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
One account per person. Don't pretend to be someone else.
If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple's own terms also apply to that sign-in. You can unlink it in Your account › Sign-in methods, as long as you keep another way in.
You can delete your account any time in the app (Your account › Delete my account). Guests and under-16s can use "Delete my data" at the bottom of the home screen.
4. Community rules
Don't post, send or share anything (in chat, messages, posts, your profile, or a share card or clip you make) that:
bullies, harasses, threatens or encourages self-harm
is hateful about anyone's race, religion, sex, gender identity, sexuality, disability or nationality
is sexual, or involves anyone under 18 in any sexual way (we report this to the police and the National Crime Agency)
is terrorist content, or supports or promotes an organisation banned ("proscribed") in the UK
stirs up hatred in a way that's against the law, for example because of someone's race, religion or sexuality
is violent or illegal, promotes drugs, weapons or gambling, or is spam or a scam
shares someone's private information without their permission
Don't cheat, use bots or exploits, make fake accounts to farm referral rewards, or try to get around a ban.
5. How we keep you safe: reporting, blocking and moderation
You can report any message, profile, post or advert, and block anyone, from the app. Direct messages are only possible between mates or crew-mates.
Automatic filters ("proactive technology") check typed text before anyone sees it, for example for abuse, links and contact details. People review what's reported.
We look at every report and act on it within 48 hours, and we tell you what we did. Anything involving a child's safety goes to the front of the queue.
Intimate images shared without consent are removed within 48 hours of a report.
If something breaks these rules, we may remove it, warn you, mute you, or suspend or ban your account. How far we go depends on how serious it is.
Appeals: if you think we got it wrong, appeal from the notice in the app or email renzoskitchen@gmail.com. Someone who didn't make the first decision will look at it again where possible. While we're a one-person team, the same person may review it, taking a fresh look and recording why. We'll reply within 48 hours.
Complaints about how we handle safety: email us or use the form at /report. We reply to complaints within 48 hours and tell you the outcome.
We report child sexual abuse material to the National Crime Agency, as the law requires.
6. Your content, share cards and challenge links
You own what you post. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people you've chosen, so the app works. This permission ends when you delete it, apart from copies we must keep for safety or legal reasons.
Share cards and video clips are made on your phone. When you post one somewhere else, you're responsible for it there, and that site's rules apply. A challenge link can be opened by anyone you send it to. Please don't use a share card, clip or challenge to mock or harass someone.
7. Rewards, Your Week, seasons and cups
Referral rewards ("Bring a mate"): when a mate joins through your link and plays 5 games, you both get a cosmetic (for example a card back). Rewards are cosmetic only, can't be bought, sold, traded or swapped for money, and we can withhold or remove them if they were earned through fake or duplicate accounts.
Your Week is a weekly recap of your own games. It's for fun; the numbers aren't a promise of anything.
Ranked seasons and cups are free to enter. Any prize is a cosmetic or title in the app, with no cash value. We run them ourselves: Apple is not a sponsor of, or involved in, any season, cup or reward.
8. Adverts
A short advert shows after every 5 games you finish. In this version they're all our own adverts, they aren't personalised, and you can skip them after 5 seconds. Every advert has a "Report ad" button. Ad-Free removes them.
9. Purchases
This version sells one item, Run the Deck Ad-Free (a one-off purchase). It removes adverts and gives no advantage in games.
Apple takes the payment. Apple's terms apply, and refunds are requested from Apple (there's a "Request a refund" button in the app). Purchases belong to your Run the Deck account.
Ad-Free unlocks straight away. By buying, you agree it starts now, so your 14-day right to cancel ends once it's unlocked. This doesn't affect your other consumer rights.
Use "Restore purchases" to get your items back on a new device.
No purchases on under-16 devices. 16- and 17-year-olds may need a parent's approval through Apple's Ask to Buy.
10. The service
We work hard to keep Run the Deck running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of bugs. We may change or remove features. If we close the app, we'll give you reasonable notice.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit. You also keep your rights under consumer law. Otherwise, we're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable when you started using Run the Deck, or for losses to a business.
12. Changes and law
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If the change is important, we'll tell you in the app first. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring claims in your local courts.
